Aggregate Production

For the quarry industry Dr Kojovic has developed a novel technique for the characterisation of particle shape in fine aggregates used for concrete and road base. This technique has been adopted by CSR Readymix. He has also worked closely with blasting consultants in identifying the impact of blast design on product quality. In 2006 Dr Kojovic successfully completed a US Department of Energy study on mine-to-mill’s application to the quarrying industry, involving both blast and plant modeling and optimisation. This study was conducted at the Luck Stone Pittsboro quarry in North Carolina.
